When making cannabis infused food products, you’ll first need to “decarboxylate” your cannabis. This process will activate the THC and therefore give you effective edibles. If this step is overlooked or done improperly, you may spoil the end product. There are two easy methods to ‘decarbing’ your cannabis flower, both equally as effective.

Process 1: Baking
What you’ll need:
Ground Bud
Baking Sheet
Parchment Paper
Step 1: Grind your plant matter into a fine consistency, allowing the moisture within the cannabis air out.
Step 2: Spread ground flower evenly across a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 3: Bake at 220F for roughly 25 minutes, increasing time depending on the moisture of your unique herb.
Step 4: Allow baked herb to dry and cool
Congratulations! You now have an activated herb that’s ready for infusion.

Process 2: Sous Vide (Soo-Vēd)
What you’ll need:
Ziploc Bag (Preferably Vacuum-Sealed)
Ground Bud
Pot of Water (Bring to Light Simmer)
Step 1: Break up the cannabis. It is not necessary to finely grind your herb in this process but may be helpful for first-timers.
Step 2: Transfer broken material into a Ziploc bag. Remove excess air in bag by hand of machine.
Step 3: When bag is sealed (DOUBLE CHECK,) place in simmering water for 2 hours.
